After GL, Stringfield jumped to prime-time's NYPD Blue and ER. Despite netting three consecutive Emmy nominations, Stringfield quit. In 1998, she married science writer Lawrence Joseph; she gave birth to daughter Phoebe in 2001.

fter appearing on the big screen in "Autumn in New York", Stringfield returned to ER last year. "It might have been fun to go back to Guiding Light," she muses. I have the best memories of working with [the late] Michael Zaslow [ex-Roger] and Maureen Garrett [Holly]. As a matter of fact, Marika Zaslow [Michael's daughter] is my daughter's godmother," she adds. "They were some of the best years I've had acting. You have to be multi-talented to tape a show every day. After a soap, anything's easy [laughs]."
