Noah Wyle on The Ellen DeGeneres Show
2005

Ellen- He's been on NBC's hit drama, ER, for 11 years. Here he is during his very first season.

[they show a clip from season 1. Carter, Mark, Chen, & Haleh are in the trauma room. Chen goes to hand Carter the shock paddles, but they go off when he goes to grad them, so Chen ended up shocking him, which knocked him out]

Ellen- Please welcome Noah Wyle!

[Noah comes out & there's lots of clapping & Cheering]

Ellen- yes, yes on Noah. They voted for you, they say yeah on you.

Noah- Thank you

Ellen- I remember that episode

Noah- In the spirit of fair play, do you have a clip of you from 11 years ago, that your gonna share?

Ellen- I've shown stuff from me from-I've shown my first carson which is funny as hell

[laughter]

Ellen- You look good there, you don't look that different. What do you think when you see yourself 11 years ago?

Noah- Oh, well I look at everybody else in that room and think aw I miss those guys, you know?

Ellen- yeah

Noah- Tony and Juilanna. It seems like a long time ago to me.

Ellen- Really?

Noah- It really does.

Ellen- Do you remember that episode though? Is it hard for you to remember?

Noah- I do. Well those were really fun because back in the beginning I got to do a lot more sort of comic relief stuff, a lot more prat falls, getting shocked with stuff and having human fluids dumped on me.

[laughter]

Ellen- Yeah

Noah- You know all that kind of stuff

Ellen- Yeah

Noah- but I do miss doing that, that was fun to come to work-

Ellen- Well people think that- physical comedy you really have too-

Noah- It's very difficult to do

Ellen- You fall very well

Noah- Thank you very much

Ellen- It was very funny, very real

Noah- Thank you

Ellen- Fall now

[laughter, Noah gets up]

Noah- Ready?

Ellen- Oh really?

Noah- Shock me. [Noah is on the chair arm now]

Ellen- Really? Alright. [Pretends to shock him with her hands]

[Noah falls off chair]   [laughter & clapping]

[Noah gets up & sits back in the chair]

Ellen- That was good..Are you alright?

Noah- It was easier 11 years ago

[laughter]

Ellen- Howstin better look out. But at least you know how to take care of yourself if something's wrong

Noah- That's true, yeah, I know who to call at least

Ellen- Um, thanks for doing that for me, I'm sorry that- but its after valentine's day so I'm not worried about any kind of-

Noah- Do you see what I got from my son yesterday, I got like a dueling scar on my face from my son as a valentine's day gift.

Ellen- What did he do? What did he hit you with?

Noah- Well, little kid's nails grow like crazy & if your not staying on top of it there like little razor blades & he did kind of a sharlin temple tiger claw technique on me

Ellen- Oh, no I can't see it

Noah- No? [points to where it is]

Ellen- Oh, a tiny little mark right there.

[laughter]

Ellen- How was you valentine's day, was it good?

Noah- yeah, it was good. I uh- it's a bit of a anniversary..I proposed marriage to my wife, 6 years ago yesterday

[audience awes']

Noah- Yeah, well, the story gets better. My wife & I used to celebrate everything; 1st kiss, 1st date, 1st glance, 1st this-

Ellen- aw, that's sweet

Noah- Yesterday [laughing] it was like I emptied the dish washer honey!' I love ya!'

[laughter]

Noah- When you have kids, those old anniversaries kinda get pushed aside & you do the big ones, birthdays, Christmas, & mother's day

Ellen- Well, you have 1 kid right? Just 1?

Noah- I do, yeah, so far

Ellen- And its Owen?

Noah- Owen, yeah

Ellen- You showed pictures last time, he looks adorable. He's how old now?

Noah- He's 2. He's 2, very 2

Ellen- And what 2?

Noah- Very 2

Ellen- Yeah

[laughter]

Noah- Those of you who have kids can apprehensive the challenging 2

Ellen- Well, it's the terrible 2

Noah- The terrible 2..we call them the challenging 2's, he's very independent & he's very head strong & likes to do things himself & totally funny, he came up the other day with a- he's got a alter ego personality, named Jago Paneno

[laughter]

Noah- When he doesn't want to do something he suddenly becomes Jago Paneno

Ellen- He came up with that name?

Noah- Yeah, by himself

Ellen- wow

Noah- Yeah

Ellen- That's a good name

[laughter]

Ellen- And so Jago Paneno is his alter ego?

Noah- When Owen doesn't  want to do something, then Jago comes in & plays hard ball with you

[laughter]

Noah- We could all use a Jago Paneno, am I right?

[laughter]
