Neal Baer - The Backlot Cafe Chat
February 24, 1998
MingoJones asks "Do you ever get writers block? And, if so, what do you do to overcome it?"
NealBaer says "Go take a walk outside on the lot or call Paul Manning up and have a chat since he used to be on the show - he's a great writer! And he comes up with it just like that."
ExciteUser asks "What is your fav show which pressently plays on tv???? other than ER! not that i dont like ER !"
NealBaer says "I Love Lucy. Seriously! It's my favorite show - it's so visual and it's television at its best. You have to watch it to get it. To understand it. It's not just verbal. I love Route 66 too - that was my favorite on Nick at Night!"
Nobb asks "Does it worry you about the must-see line-up on Thursday wont as strong as it used to be with the ending of Seinfeld?"
NealBaer says "No. Its a different show certainly."
ExciteUser asks "Are you looking forward to the day of retiring?"
NealBaer says "Well, hopefully that wont be for 30 something years! No! I'm looking forward to tomorrow when we shoot the big scenes!"
Universal says "You shoot every day?"
NealBaer says "We shoot 5 days a week, and every episode takes 8 days with trips to Chicago to do exteriors."
Universal says "That is quite a schedule you keep, but I commend you for it! That's going to wrap it up for another episode of TheBacklot Cafe. Our thanks go out to Neal Baer and the American Film Institute for taking the time to chat with us tonight and making this chat possible!"
Universal says "Thanks again chatters.
